The Project: Sunbeam Tiger Frame Repair
Recently, we had the pleasure of working on a unique and storied classic – the Sunbeam Tiger. This high-performance V8 version of the British Rootes Group’s Sunbeam Alpine roadster was produced between 1964 and 1967. The Tiger stands out not only for its sleek design but also for its powerful 4.3-liter Ford V8 engine. This remarkable car was partially designed by the legendary American car designer and racing driver Carroll Shelby, adding to its illustrious history and appeal.
Assessing the Damage
Upon arrival, our first step was to thoroughly assess the frame’s condition. Years of wear and tear had taken their toll, and rust had started to compromise the structural integrity.
