The building’s stairwell railings were not up to code due to the spacing between spindles exceeding the required 4-inch gap. With the building fully occupied, welding on-site or removing the railings for modification wasn’t a viable option. Our team needed to come up with a solution that was quick, safe, and effective—without causing disruptions to the tenants.
The Solution: Custom Aluminum Railing Cover Plates
Our answer to this challenge? Custom aluminum, powder-coated railing cover plates. These were meticulously designed to fit seamlessly over the existing railings on two 3-story stairwells. The plates were securely fastened to the railings and landings, bringing the entire stairwell up to code while maintaining a sleek, modern look.
Not only did this solution enhance safety, but it was also cost-effective and efficient. There was no need for messy, time-consuming on-site welding or disassembling parts of the building’s infrastructure.
