General Welding has fabricated several sculptures designed by artist Albert Peley for installation at locations in Washington D.C., Florida adn St. Louis. The sculptures were fabricated using 3/4-1.5″ metal, working from 1/4 scale artists model. The metal was cut, bent, welded and painted at General Welding, then shipped and installed at the locations. The Washington D.C. sculpture weighs 17-tons and is 25′ high. The Florida sculpture weighs 20-tons and is 30′ high. The St. Louis Zoo now has the largest sculpture at any public zoo in the country. 53 animals, 34 feet tall by 120 feet wide, 200 tons, 1/4″ to 2″ Corten Steel.
