Transforming Front Doors with Custom Metal Repair for OLV Human Services

At General Welding & Fabricating, we take pride in our ability to provide innovative and durable metal repair solutions. Recently, we had the pleasure of working with OLV Human Services to restore and enhance the metal framing on the front doors of one of their buildings.

Problem: Rust and Deterioration from Harsh Weather

Buffalo winters can be tough on any structure, and OLV’s door frames were no exception. Over time, salt, ice, and snow had caused the metal frames to rust and deteriorate. The damage was significant, and without intervention, the frame could have continued to decay. That’s where we stepped in.

Our Solution: Enhance

Once we ensured the surface was ready, we moved forward with a unique and visually appealing solution—covering sections of the frame with custom stainless steel plates that featured a cutout of OLV’s newly designed logo. This wasn’t just a quick patch job, but a carefully crafted, long-lasting upgrade.

Custom Stainless Steel Logo Plates

To elevate the project further, we cut stainless steel plates to incorporate the OLV logo. The surface was brushed for a sleek finish, and each plate was precisely formed to fit snugly over the existing door frame. This not only reinforced the structure but also gave the entryway a modern and professional look.

Collaboration Yields Creative Solutions

What began as a standard cover plate repair evolved into something much more exciting thanks to a collaborative effort with our customer. Through brainstorming and idea-sharing, we found a solution that was not only functional but also visually impressive. It turned out to be a cost-effective, creative way to address what could have been an expensive overhaul. In an essences, this is what General Welding & Fabricating means when we say “You dream it, we build or repair it!”.

Final Touches

To complete the look, OLV Human Services painted the door frame to match their logo’s colors. Using high-bond 3M double-sided tape, the stainless steel plates were securely adhered to the frame. The final result was a transformed entryway that stands up to the elements and adds a custom touch that truly represents their brand.

At General Welding & Fabricating, no project is too small or too complex. We thrive on collaborating with our customers to create durable, custom solutions that exceed expectations.
